This is only a brief insight into the game’s development and I highly recommend reading the original story from Unseen64. Apparently, the developers planned more than 180 enticing quests which might have required two UMDs. As you might expect, each area had multiple paths and seemed very optimistic for a handheld title. Instead of exploring a vast open world, you rely on a teleportation crystal to visit each explorable section of the game. More specifically, the game featured a hub world which contained various vendors, NPCs and interesting characters. Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion is based on the main Oblivion title but adopts a more linear approach due to the PSP’s technical restrictions. Saying that, there was an Elder Scrolls PSP game in development which sadly never received an official release. Over the years, the series has seen number releases on home consoles, but for some reason, the games never translated into handheld versions. The Elder Scrolls franchise has thrilled role-playing aficionados for well over a decade and has a huge modding community on the PC platform.
